چکیده

We investigate the collision energy dependence of η/s in a transport + viscous hydrodynamics hybrid model. A Bayesian analysis is performed on RHIC beam energy scan data for Au + Au collisions at √ sNN = 19.6, 39, and 62.4 GeV. The resulting posterior probability distributions for the model parameters show a preference for a larger value of η/s at 19.6 GeV compared to 62.4 GeV, indicating dependence on baryon chemical potential μB. 1 ar X iv :1 70 4. 04 64 3v 1 [ nu cl -t h] 1 5 A pr 2 01 7

Parameter extractions for RHIC BES using Bayesian statistics

We present the latest results on the collision energy dependence of η/s, obtained from a Bayesian model-to-data analysis of UrQMD + viscous hydrodynamics hybrid model to RHIC beam energy scan data for Au+Au collisions at 19.6, 39 and 62.4 GeV. Changes in the most likely value of η/s over beam energy scan range suggest a dependence on baryon chemical potential μB. However, we also find the uncer...

Centrality Dependence of J/ψ Production in Au+Au and Cu+Cu Collisions by the PHENIX Experiment at RHIC

J/ψ production has been measured in Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions at √ sNN = 200 GeV by the PHENIX experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) during 2004 and 2005, respectively, at mid-rapidity (|η| ≤ 0.35) via J/ψ → ee decay and at forward rapidity (1.2 ≤ |η| ≤ 2.2) via J/ψ → μμ decay. The nuclear modification factor (RAA) of J/ψ is presented as a function of the collision centralit...

Au+Au Collisions at RHIC and implications for ultra-relativistic astrophysical A+A collisions

The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory, New York, USA, has a circumference of 3833 m and uses 1740 superconducting magnets [1]. Fig. 1 shows the RHIC accelerator complex. The main objective of RHIC is the investigation of novel QCD phenomena at high density and high temperature in ultra-relativistic Au+Au collisions. The highest center-of-mass energy √ s=20...

Measurements of strange hadrons K S 0 , Λ and Ξ from Au +

We report the measurements of the production of strange hadrons K S , and at mid rapidity in Au+Au collisions at p s NN = 14.5 GeV from the Beam Energy Scan (BES) program at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC). The collision energy dependence of strange hadron yields are also presented. To understand the recombination and parton energy loss mechanisms, nuclear modi cation factors and...

1 2 Ju n 20 09 Center of mass energy and system - size dependence of photon production at forward rapidity at RHIC

We present the multiplicity and pseudorapidity distributions of photons produced in Au+Au and Cu+Cu collisions at √ sNN = 62.4 and 200 GeV. The photons are measured in the region −3.7 < η < −2.3 using the photon multiplicity detector in the STAR experiment at RHIC. The number of photons produced per average number of participating nucleon pairs increases with the beam energy and is independent ...
